I have been kind of busy and forgot to post that I had a baby knitter.

Little E was born March 27, 6 lbs 12 oz. Happy and heathly are we. But knitting...hahahaha! As soon as I learn to knit and breastfeed at the same time, I'll let you know. ;D

Not a lot of knitting going on around here but I did do this! Go me.

Surely there will be LOTS of baby knits in the near future. Meghann did start me off with a gorgeous soaker. She also gave me the leftovers to do with as I please. I'm thinking matching hat and booties. Oh yeah, stylin' babe this spring for sure.

Meghann and I drove up to Manchester , NH to check out the Summer Knit and Crochet Show. It was really, really hard to pick just a few things and not go home totally broke.

First, Tess' Designer Yarn , it was so hard to choose this superwash merino/nylon blend sock yarn in beautiful browns. There were SO many different colorways and yarns my head was spinning. I can't wait to see how this one works up.

Then, Lexie Barnes. There were a bunch of new, seconds and sale stuff so I picked up a couple of Mini bags to use for my notions and stuff. Lexie herself was at the booth and she was super cool and down to earth.

Decadent Fibers up next. The soft, muted but saturated pinks, browns and greens of this Marshmallow yarn pulled me in. Super soft and squishy sport weight aplaca/merino blend. Did I say soft? And I only have one other sport weight sock yarn and it was getting lonely, er, um, I need to branch out a little I mean.

A Touch of Twist was around the next corner. Tons of super soft alpaca yarns. Lace, sock and worsted weight of all the pretty colors of the rainbow. I got two skeins of teal Alpaca Lite sock yarn. Oh yeah, I'll have warm feet this winter.

eh...look at some wool.

Illusion Yarns by Radiant Twist. Miss T aplaca/ merino blend on the left, Seaglass superwash merino sock on the right. I don't have patterns in mind for either so help me out if you have any ideas.

Oh and I have a job now. And it's the best. I 'work' for my pal Meghann. I say work loosely because it involves yarn and my dear friend. Her business is growing by leaps and bounds and I (evil scheme) volunteered to help as needed in exchange for a skein or two every now and then. Some ( A LOT - ow, my arm hurts ) reskeining, a little packaging and lots of chit chatting. Last week there was even ice cream! See how I can hardly call that work?

And there's been knitting happening too. Look! A finished sock! One Roza's sock down, one to go. I do like this pattern and will knit it again. And that's good because I have a second sock to knit.

On another note , heh, it's still about knitting...anyone going to the NH Summer Knit and Crochet Show ? I'll be there! Sadly, Hubbo and The Boy don't want to go so I'll have to go by myself. Sigh. ;) Luckily Mr. Mastercard and Mrs. Visa want to come.

Soaker number one, a surprise gift for Miss E ( Jess, you better NOT be peeking )to match her gorgeous blue eyes. Radiant Twist pattern size large, Sharon of Three Irish Girls supplied the Lindon Merino in Quinn for the body and turquoise for the trim. The softest, most squishiest wool yarn evah.

Soaker number two, a gift for another pals little guy. This one is special because pal and I dyed this wool together last summer. It's Lion brand Fishermans wool in an array of greens and blues. I think it came out lovely and I can't wait to see it on him. Radiant Twist pattern again, this time size medium.

Both were washed with my favorite wool wash from Sudz N' Dudz, Pink Sugar scent.

Besides I'm out of lollipops and I wanted to get this gusset going.

Lorna's Laces Shepherd Sock in Daffodil by the way. Sheri has a bunch of the LL and you may even catch the sneaky yarny goodness sneak up. ;) ;)

We won't even talk about how I broke my first needle ever trying to get this done last night nor will we talk about how I can't find the set of replacement needles my pal Jess so kindly sent me.
I did find some at the LYS so we can really stop talking about it.

( It was really horrible, there should be some sort of 24 hour support group for needles breaking. ) Okay, I'm over it. Stop talking about. Let's move on.

We braved rush hour/a Red Sox home game into downtown Boston to visit a new additon to the world. Our dear friends, M and A welcomed little N into their family in the wee hours of Thursday morning. All 8 lbs, 13 oz and 21 inches of perfect little boy.

Our Boy thought he was tiny and cute and toothless and even gave him a little lovin' after he finished pressing the nurse call button fifty two times. We didn't get a picture of that because...well, three year olds can be unpredictable and we needed our hands free.

A trip worth making ,besides, the sock and The Boy had never seen the Citgo sign, Boston Garden,or the Zakim Bridge. They were both impressed.

Props to Steph for making traveling sock pictures normal and go wish *her a Happy Birthday too.

That is my super fabulous new banner. Made by Jen. She so totally rocks. I know her from a forum we both post on but had no idea she was such a computer whiz. Unlike me. I was browsing blogs and saw on hers that she designed the banner for this super cool Etsy shop, Mama Wrappings. So I delurked and complimented her on it, we worked out a trade ( banner for me and for her, some yarn and surprises too) and voila!

Thanks SO much Jen. You really do rock.

on the hats and soaker. I've been given the go-ahead to post about them. So here goes. First the color pictures.

Umbilical Cord hat pattern from Stitch 'N Bitch by Debbie Stoller. I used Blue Sky Alpacas dyed cotton in honeydew and lemonade. That yarn is so soft and squishy and silky I was doubtful it was really cotton. I can't wait to use it again.

**The hats were super easy and fast. The top is so cute. I was only supposed to make one but I had so much fun with this pattern that I cast on a second one immediately.

Radiant Twist soaker pattern by Meghann. It's soon to be released so keep your eye out for it at LilyPadLanding . For Erin's wool diaper cover I used Peruvian wool yarn from Amanda at Dyeing To Fly . Amanda does great things with color. The Forgiveness colorway is lovely baby pastels. Yellow, green and blues to surprise me along the way. I can't wait to see what she has in stock next.

**The soaker was also fun and super easy to make. Meg asked me test the pattern out for her but I think she really just wanted her darling son outfitted for the summer. The first two I knit went to her little man. Bottom is knit with Blackberry Ridge merino dyed by Kimberly of Beemer Knits in her Bananafish colorway and top is Lion Wool dyed by moi.

Two hats and a diaper cover.
It's a semi-surprise for a trade I made with Erin. She's making me a needle roll( also a surprise..wheee!!! ) for my outta control collection of pointy sticks. Here's a sepia toned picture for now. I will post the details and color pictures once it's in her hands.

I'll never know. It's brilliant.

So there's The Boy in the tub. There's me right outside the door on a stool in the kitchen. Knitting. The Boy splashes water all over the floor. I don't care, I'm knitting. He throws a whole cup of water on Jeffy the cat. I don't care, I'm knitting. It's time to get out and The Boy protests. Okay, you can stay in for two more hours darlin', I'm knitting! Oh, you'd like to eat in there...okay, I'm knitting!

I see a very, very clean boy and lots of knitting getting done. Every day.

is ~~American Idol~~ my first sweater ever!

It's a simple, top down cardigan from KnittingPureandSimple but what makes it special to me is that I dyed the yarn myself. Okay, Meghann held my hand over the phone as I stood freaking out over the pot. It's no easy feat to get 1200 yds. of Cascade Eco all in one pot *and* all the same color. Yeah....it's not all the same color but that makes me love it more. Look! Pretty!

As soon as we put the AC in the windows and it's cool enough to have a pile of wool in my lap I'll get back to it.
Anyone else miss Seacrest ?

I've been knitting now for just less than a year and you'd have to pry the needles out of my cold, dead hands to get me to stop.
